The walls are graced with her beautiful artwork, and all around are photos, mementos, and gifts from friends and students. She spoke with me about her journey as a professional artist and how it is different for every artist. She shared with me about the pleasure she finds in teaching adults who often think they are not creative yet have a desire to paint, and the joy she receives as they learn to recognize and expand their own artistic abilities.
Her artwork is masterfully fashioned with simple strokes, and naturally, she prefers when it comes easily and effortlessly. However, she practices what she teaches her students, when an error occurs she doesn't crumple it up and toss it aside, instead she uses a bit of thought and some fresh choices to redeem the work. She doesn't have the luxury of slathering on more paint as acrylic painters do! It is a bold and courageous art form!
